Expectations

Someone attempts to cut you off in traffic.
You slow down and although upset
you let them in and they don't give a courtesy gesture.

You open the door for others
they walk through expectantly
As though it was your duty
No word of thanks.

I am all about mannerisms, 'thank you's' and acknowledgment of appreciation. Yet think for yourself, why are you doing this for others. One should not 'give' to others expecting something in return, regardless it be a favor or a word of thanks. Just know you are doing something nice for others is good enough in itself. Expecting a reaction out of others, expecting others to pay you back, expecting others to say thank you.

People should do things out of their own will if not let things be. Sure, gratitude is a nice feeling, but not great as the feeling of being kind and giving. If one expects others to react a certain way to situations then the world will never be kind to one another. If not a thanks, then just a hope that those people will one day give in the continuous never ending cycle.
If you want others to acknowledge you, than you might as well stop being kind because you will be in for a large expected disappointment.

So, before you flip the finger at someone that didn't say thanks for letting him cut you in busy traffic. It was YOU that let him in the first place. Sometimes you just gotta shrug your shoulders and know you did the right thing.

Cheers!

Look Before Leaping

After our presentation from the manager of public health:

Me: Hey want to go to the mall for a bit?

K.D: "sure"

Me: I gotta go get my jacket

K.D: Well I'm parked right here, want me to turn around to get you?

Me: Sure, I gotta go get my jacket, you know where to pick me up?

K.D: Yea

Go upstairs grab my jacket, my purse, my mittens and head down and out the door.

Me: ..i forget what her truck looks like....(sees a car warming up and parked). I think i'll head on
over.

I go on over, I can't see over the large truck door and being all over 4'11 (Normal Asian Midget Height) I get on the step open the door to get ready to sit down.

People...

Remind me to look before I leap.

Man In Car: Probably thinking...How Much?

I Should Join, I could meet a communist leader of my dreams

Pause Music to the Right Before Playing the Video

............now THATS how i pictured E Harmony.....

Now Thats My Cup of Joe

You embrace me in your warmth,
you are there when I am cold.
Your aroma slowly wakes me,
it fills my soul and I develop courage for the day.

You create a social atmosphere for friends,
You give an immediate richness and
appearance of a beautiful crisp coldness.

You keep me calm, collected
You give the ability and strength to continue
You accentuate smells of pastries and baking
The pouring and swirling gliding against smooth glass
Thanks Cup of Joe

Thank God for Coffee
I would have never made light nights without it!
Have yourself a cup and Enjoy Your Day! <3

If you are going to indulge in lovely java, might as well listen to this wonderful jazz/lounge pop group called The Classiquai Project. Their tunes range from smooth jazz undertones to high popadelic funk! They are one of my favorite groups to listen to while doing work or drinking coffee. Their 4th album 'Mucho Punk' is one of their best works! Enjoy!

but....i worked so hard

Okay, la di da You've been working out excessively, dieting excessively, your friends go out and you have a salad..........to start. Then a sandwich with fries loaded with mayo. You go home and your day is flooded with thoughts on gaining weight, guilt, and why you hadn't controlled yourself.

So not only have you taken the time to work out but you torture yourself with guilt from eating? Well I'll be damned since when does working out mean giving up the joys of eating? Yea you work out to be more healthy, yea you want to look good but just face it people. Enjoying life and socializing with others is to enjoy food. What is guilt going to do besides eat away at your subconscious? and you can't do anything about it because whats done is done. You can opt for more healthy choices all year round so why feel guilty about one day of eating?

Those who are exercise fanatics will probably say I am wrong and it will ruin your routine etc etc. Just look at it this way, if you had one last day on this earth would your thoughts entail "man! i wish i was working out right now!", Pfft Yeaaa Right it'd be "I'm going to have the best damn meal of my life!"

That being said, i'll also stress the moderation speal. Try to not to let both exercise or poor food choices control your life. It's about balance and moderation. We live to eat and eat to live. It is the never ending cycle. Once you've achieved your goal in looking good and being healthy, then what? Maintenance, and with maintenance will still follow thoughts of "should i eat that?" So balance your lifestyle, be healthy, Enjoy yourself, and ditch the guilt!

Nurses

Today I'm going to discuss something near and dear to my heart. Let me just say thank you to all health professionals that attempt to make ill ones better the best way they can, physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, x ray technicians, Respiratory therapists, nursing attendants, unit clerks, and so on and so on. Lastly, Thank you to all nurses.

Nurses of all kinds,
LPN's and RN's. I don't think anyone has realized the difficulty of a nurse. Many will think nurses strictly wipe..(excuse my language) ass and follow orders. This cannot be further from the truth. Nurses do not get Science degrees or their PhD's or Masters just to learn how to wash and wipe patients. Nurses empower clients, educate patients on what they need to know, provide resources, assess status, and have the knowledge to look for symptoms in case of status changes. Nurses have extensive knowledge on disease pathophysiology, and sometimes have the courage to explain to physicians that sometimes what was ordered may not be correct.

That being, not every single health worker is perfect for their jobs and you may at one point in your life run into the rudest nurse possible. For every one person there are ten other nurses that take their job seriously and are there to advocate for you. Nurses are there to protect and ensure client's are happy and content with care. How many times have you watched a show, say Grey's Anatomy that the hospital is run based on physicians. Half they jobs they do on the show is what n
urses do. Please open your mind and your hearts to the nurses and other health professionals. Planning the care of an individual is not a one person job, yet it is the collaboration of a health care team.

Followers or Dancers

Okay, so the other day a friend and I go dancing. We love to dance and have a good time. No we don't like to pick up guys, and no we didn't wear dresses and stilettos nothing but the best of the best, a shirt, a belt, and some polka dot ballet flats. We didn't leave our groove at home, so thinking there was not much a crowd why not bust a move?

Lame crowds sitting on the corner creepy eyed and bored. I think it defeats the purpose of going dancing if you ask me. Anyhoo two young ..shall we say "i think I'm hot" type girls get on the dance floor after the crowd picks up and starts pointing and laughing at my friend and I.

Needless to say I'm having too good of a time to notice, they leave and we keep dancing. Why people are mean beats me maybe insecurities, maybe they're angry, or maybe they're just not blessed with kind nature (it is an effort for some people).
Low underhanded comments will do no good for this danceholic baby. So remember peeps whether there is a crowd or not, be the leader and do your thing, pay no mind to negative energy and keep on dancing!

Speaking of which, "those dancing days" are a kickass group if you like this genre of music, indie pop happy. Doesn't conform but makes ya wanna dance don't it?

Happy and Proud

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Ahhh nothing taste and feels better then a dose of feeling proud. Have you ever done something and attempted to accomplish? Are there goals you've set and have reached almost half way?
Everyone has set goals for themselves. Even things such as learning to tie your shoes, to learn more about computers, or when things are going according to your daily plans.

The problem with humanity is that we don't give ourselves enough credit or any credit at all. Thinking they're frivolous and not large enough of an achievement. EVERYTHING can be an achievement right down to the very last drop. It all comes down to your own perception but give it some self thought. It takes effort to plan your day, get up and go to work, or to begin an exercise routine. Whatever it is give yourself a little credit and continue what you started. Be proud of yourself regardless of what people may say.

Even if you've done something wrong it takes effort to admit it and to go through any type of criticism. Eventually wrong doings will have consequences and hopefully one has learned from the mistakes. Despite what others think, the least you can do for yourself is say "I am PROUD".

what are YOU waiting for?!

Do you guys find that we're always waiting for things? Waiting for the chance, waiting for that moment, waiting for destiny, waiting for deadlines, and as a part of living we are ALWAYS waiting. Sometimes you don't wait, sometimes you procrastinate, sometimes you put things off because of fear or it's just plain laziness. Whatever it is why can't we just go ahead, go forward and go for things! Why wait? the rest of the world is continuous but you're at a standstill.

If you want to do something be the Nike and just DO IT. Nobody will do things for you, nobody will ever have the same desires or want like you do. You have the passion for it so why wait until a friend does something with you and why wait till someone agrees. (keeping in mind that its non harmful to others) but asides that just go for it and go at it with your utmost energy. You have nothing to lose, if you feel like skydiving then go skydiving, if you want to swim then swim, if you want to join a roller derby team than heck JUST DO IT. Don't wait around because chances are too few and far in between.

You make your life, you choose your chances, and you create your destiny. Greater opportunities may arise but in the mean time why sit around and wait? Give life your greatest shot you have nothing to lose, go forth and kick some ass!

For the Love of God, Let it Go!

Why is it so damn hard to let things go. Why do we dwell on things that are so unnecessary? If something already happened then why do we still think about them? Everyone does it but the real question is how do we forget them? I figure maybe listening to music and exercising is a good way to keep the mind occupied. It's so much more peaceful to let the mind relax then to think about why he or she is like this and that. like......who cares! Just let the damned thing go. If you're mad about something, you're mad at that moment but the day after just LET IT GO. yea i know easier said then done, yet once it has already happened the moment won't reoccur. Life is harder in itself, work is stressful than it really is, and we can't get along with everybody but regardless we just gotta let it go!
